This image of ice covering the tree branches is beautiful, Charles, but it reminds me of the terrible 1998 ice storm we had here in Quebec. It turned out to be the most expensive and damaging natural disaster in Canadian history.

Still, the colors & clarity of your picture is fabulous.
Charles Dastodd: thanks for the reply. ice is certainly one of natures terrible beauties. i know a lot of people in the area lost power right before Christmas because of ice taking down the power lines. we were quite fortunate in our part of town

This is a lovely, artful image, and something I don't see in my part of California. Thank you for so beautifully capturing it.
Charles Dastodd: So happy you like it smile The weather here in Chicago can certainly be brutal but I would miss it terribly if I didn't have four seasons

Nice detail shot
Charles Dastodd: thanks for the comment and thanks for coming by smile
Nice bit of bokeh, there! Fortunately, we rarely see ice like that in the UK these days!
Charles Dastodd: Thanks Tom! We were lucky actually that the ice melted so fast - only to be replaced with 3 more inches of snow. But I would take the snow over the ice any day. Walking on the ice was brutal

Trees' fingers in glass-like gloves are marvelous here !
Charles Dastodd: they do look like fingers! someone else pointed that out. I don't think I even thought of that when I took it but I am happy it turned out as it did
Nice one. dont know if im seeing things, but if im right, the white lines are rain drops? deffo gives it a bit of motion..if you see what i mean..well done
Charles Dastodd: yes, it was still icing when I took this. it was sort of wet ice and not pleasant.
Simple and effective
Thats a good shot. Those streaks in the background give it a good touch.
