photoblog image Tea Cups

Tea Cups

These clay disposable tea cups are found all over Kolkata at street vendors at carts and market stalls. The locals buy their tea and then throw them away. You see these cups smashed all over the ground. I took this from a tea and snack shop while at Dakshineswar.

joli graphisme.
They seem to be unglazed on the inside, Charles. I wonder if that would effect the taste of the tea.

I like this image very much.
Charles Dastodd: They are indeed unglazed. These are completely disposable and often seen broken and discarded in the gutter after a single use. I often had some afternoon tea from them if I was out at that time but I was never sure how much taste came from the cups or from the variety of tea itself or from the old rusty kettles used for brewing the milky concoction.
Interesting composition Charles. I stll cant get over that monkey in your previous posts ... lol
