photoblog image Kolkata Life

Kolkata Life

I had this second shot of this woman I featured previously. I loved her face so much that I wanted to share go ahead and share this one. I also think the color version shows a different image than the b&w.

I took these while I was visiting Kolkata, India back in January. This woman was just sitting on the side of the road, not waiting for anything or anyone, but simply sitting, passing the afternoon away.

Extraordinary portrait, Charles.
I am especially drawn to the apparently routine intimacy of her chin and the heel of her left hand.

Wonderful portrait, well both the B&W version and this one, to me it seems as if age has been weary on her the the weight of the world in on her

Nice portrait! I like people with interesting faces. Makes out world more beautiful.
Gosh, this looks as striking as the b&w one, if not even more.
i'm glad you posted the color version - i like it a lot - especially the warmth in it. it feels like the light in this expresses your warmth toward her.
Excellent portrait. She has that ho-hum feeling. Tired.
A fabulous portrait, so expressive.
Such a powerful shot Charles. Totally love the details and nice vivid tones!

What wonderful lines on her face, each one could tell a tale I am sure. Her facial expression is great, she's so caught up in her own thoughts she doesn't even see you.
