The Victoria Memorial in Kolkata, India was built between 1906 and 1921 to commemorate Queen Victoria whose also held the title "Impress of India". Although built in the classical style, the monument represents a fusion of both British and Mughal styles. The building is surrounded by 64 acres of gardens.

This is yet another strange building, clearly drawing some inspiration from St-Paul's of London (the two towers at the front as wella s the long axis and the side buildings) and from St-Peter of Rome (the dome and the four small towers around it. All of this is mixed with Indian styles (of which I know little to nothing).

I guess this is what architects would call acculturation, really.
