photoblog image Costa Rican Wildlife

Costa Rican Wildlife

This is the same iguana as yesterday. When I encountered him, he actually ran across the path right in front of me, almost as if he were gliding on the sand. But after he passed he stopped just a little ways away and turned back around and looked at me. He stood there for a few minutes while I took his picture, cautiously surveying the scene as if whatever he was running from might still be in close proximity. After I got a few pictures he decided it was safe to keep going and so he sauntered off into the jungle.

Taken in Manuel Antonio National Park on Costa Rica's Pacific Coast. For more animal shots from my trip go here.

Wow, that thing is big! It's interesting how his color seems to blend with the environment.

You had to be close, I don't think I could take a picture like this. I don't like very much these animals, but I really like your picture especially the colors. A bientôt VAL
