Fine detail and composition, Charles. We're moaning about the cold here, but I imagine you're colder.

Stunning details of this door.
You're framed the clock nicely in the gap between the gates.
Those gates look as grand as the clock tower behind them Charles.

Lovely detailed capture, they sure don't build gates like these any more.

I bet if they melted them down, they would pay for atleast a fraction of our current national deficit tongue
The fine detail and colors are wonderfully captured Charles!

This is such a great subject that you captured Charles.....the gates themselves are superb but the framing of the clock on the Palace is perfect...well done....grin

BTW, Thanks a lot for all your visits this week......petersmile

Now let's talk cold weather, you said that it was cold in Chicago....well right now it is 22°F there and it is 6°F here in Moonbeam ON.....now that is cold.....grin

A magnificent set of gates to suit such a fine building.
This is just so very beautiful. I have always really
loved coats of arms and am very lucky to own two of
them myself so I realize all too well the rarity of
such things as these gates. if they were selling on
the open market they would go for huge money. I follow
sales so I realize the value. They also seem to
have the best process for the casting so these
are the best of the best. Amazingly beautiful photo.
Great gates. And a glimpse of privilege beyond. Well composed shot.

Excellent composition and sharpness, Charles - these are gates that say, "I'm top dog!"
Mysterious and splendid gates! Something more special must be hidden behind it!
