Chicago's famous Water Tower on Michigan Avenue, a.k.a. the "Magnificent Mile". It is the 2nd oldest water tower in the US, was built in 1869, and stands at 154ft tall. The water tower is a Chicago icon, being among only a handful of buildings that survived the great Chicago fire of 1871.
I took this photo earlier this week on a rather cold night when flurries were just starting to fall. As you can see, the holiday lights are still up around downtown on the trees and buildings, although the Christmas trees are all gone from this square.
